Logan Carson: Sweeping Towards Success

Based at the National Curling Academy in Stirling, Logan spends his days on the ice, in amongst Olympians, Paralympians and the best curling athletes in the country.

Competing in Team Carson, skipped by his brother Orrin, Logan is a 2026 World Junior Curling Championship bronze medallist, 2024 Youth Olympic gold medallist and four-time Scottish Junior champion.

The first ever Dumfries and Galloway College student to be supported by Winning Students 100 - Scotland’s national sports scholarship programme – Logan in his first year studying Sports Coaching.

With aspirations to one day make the Olympics and reach the very top of his sport, Logan’s story is one of dedication, resilience and ambition.

With the support of Winning Students 100, he’s able to balance the demands of his sport with the aim of becoming a sport psychologist, proving that success on the ice and in college can go hand in hand.

Nurturing future champions

Winning Students 100 is a world-leading dual career programme, making a valuable investment in the future of Scottish sport and education in order to nurture future champions and bright minds.

The scheme, funded by Scottish Funding Council and sportscotland, provides a comprehensive support system that empowers athletes to achieve their full potential at college and university, and within their sport. 

Winning Students 100 is currently supporting 106 student athletes, spanning 31 sports and 18 further and higher education institutions.
